PDP Rules Out Merger Talks with ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Chairman Abdulrahman Muhammed, has officially stated that it will not engage in any merger discussions with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the country approaches the 2027 general elections. This declaration was made during the inauguration of the new National Working Committee (NWC) at the party's national secretariat in Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

Muhammed emphasized that the PDP is committed to maintaining its status as a strong independent opposition force, especially in light of recent internal disputes and legal challenges. He dismissed claims made by Taminu Turaki regarding ongoing coalition talks as misleading and unfounded, warning that the party would not hesitate to take legal action against those spreading false narratives.

The PDP is also planning to unveil strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening its structure and presenting credible leadership solutions that reflect the aspirations of the Nigerian people.
