Gbaramatu Monarch Urges Electorate to Avoid Monetary Demands

On September 23, 2026, HRM Pere Oboro-Gbaraun II, the Agadagba of Gbaramatu Kingdom, called on the electorate to refrain from making monetary demands from political candidates. He stated that such demands could financially burden candidates and detract from their focus on public service once elected.

This appeal was made during a visit by Dr. Sheriff Mulade, the National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for Warri Federal Constituency, who sought royal blessings for his political ambition. The monarch praised Mulade as a commendable son of Gbaramatu, recognizing his contributions to peace, environmental justice, and community development.
