Adebutu Launches Ogun PDP Campaign for 2027 Election

On Wednesday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officially launched its campaign for the 2027 governorship election in Abeokuta, Ogun State, despite heavy rainfall. The rally at the Ake Palace Pavilion attracted thousands of supporters, including party leaders and residents, who showed their commitment by arriving early and participating actively.

Ladi Adebutu, the PDP governorship candidate, addressed the crowd under the theme “A Call to Liberation,” urging voters to return the PDP to power and criticizing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for unmet expectations. Adebutu outlined seven key focus areas for his proposed administration, including security, local government autonomy, regional development, and economic initiatives aimed at improving living conditions.

He promised to address excessive taxation affecting traders and emphasized the importance of grassroots activism to protect votes during the election. His running mate, ‘Yemi Showunmi-Kolapo, commended the supporters for their dedication despite the rain.
