Atiku Abubakar Challenges Tinubu on Allegations Ahead of 2027

Atiku Abubakar, the 2027 presidential candidate for the ADC, has responded to political opponents who are reviving allegations from the Obasanjo era, asserting that they are unable to address the economic difficulties Nigerians are experiencing under President Bola Tinubu's administration. In a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, on September 4, 2026, Atiku emphasized that the re-emergence of these allegations signifies a failure of the current leadership to provide solutions to issues like hunger and the rising cost of living.

He contrasted his situation with that of President Tinubu, who allegedly attempted to block the release of FBI and DEA records related to him. Atiku reiterated his challenge for anyone with credible evidence against him to present it in court, stating that mere petitions do not equate to legal judgments.

He cautioned against the misuse of state institutions like the EFCC for political purposes and asserted that the upcoming elections will focus on the records and experiences of ordinary Nigerians.
