Atiku Abubakar Demands Court Transparency on Allegations

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has responded to the resurgence of long-standing allegations against him, describing it as a tactic by political opponents who are unable to address the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians. In a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku stated that the renewed allegations are a sign of desperation from those defending the current government, which is struggling to explain rising costs of living, including food and transportation.

He emphasized that no court has convicted him on these allegations, despite extensive investigations during the Obasanjo administration. Atiku challenged anyone with credible evidence against him to present it in court, contrasting his willingness to be scrutinized with Bola Tinubu's legal maneuvers to protect his records from disclosure.

He asserted that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) should investigate wrongdoing impartially, regardless of political affiliations.
