Atiku Abubakar's Camp Challenges Tinubu to Release FBI Files

The camp of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has publicly challenged President Bola Tinubu to release his United States investigative records if they do not contain evidence of criminal wrongdoing. Phrank Shaibu, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku, made this statement on X, referencing recent disclosures by US journalist Aaron Greenspan about investigations into Tinubu's alleged involvement with a drug-trafficking network in the 1990s.

Shaibu directed his challenge at Tinubu and senior administration officials, including Bayo Onanuga, Festus Keyamo, and Sunday Dare. Greenspan, who is pursuing a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit to access records related to Tinubu and businessman Abiodun Agbele, mentioned three known cases linked to the drug network and suggested a potential fourth case.

However, he clarified that no criminal indictment against Tinubu has been established from the available records. The controversy revolves around Tinubu's resistance to releasing certain records, which he claims are part of a civil dispute.
