Atiku Abubakar Demands Transparency from Presidency

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar accused the Nigerian Presidency of resorting to personal attacks rather than addressing his questions about President Bola Tinubu. This response came after the Presidency accused Atiku of undermining Nigeria's sovereignty due to his lobbying group's petitions concerning a 1993 civil forfeiture case involving Tinubu.

In a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku stated that the government failed to respond to his inquiries and instead engaged in name-calling. He argued that asking questions based on public records is not an attack on Nigeria's sovereignty and criticized the administration for reviving old political allegations against him.

Atiku asserted that elections do not exempt public officials from scrutiny and called for the government to provide factual explanations instead of resorting to abuse. He emphasized that accountability is a democratic obligation and that personal attacks do not erase public records.
