Kwankwaso: 2027 Election a Fight Against Oppression

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential running mate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed that the 2027 election will represent a struggle between the oppressed Nigerian populace and those who have contributed to their oppression. In a statement he signed, Kwankwaso criticized the composition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, questioning whether it signifies a new beginning or merely the continuation of the current hardships faced by Nigerians.

He noted that the council includes many political actors who have supported or participated in the current administration, raising concerns about what they are asking Nigerians to vote for in 2027. Kwankwaso highlighted the severe hardships faced by families across Nigeria, including rising food costs, unemployment among youth, and struggles in agriculture and business, alongside ongoing insecurity and pressure on public services such as education and healthcare.
