Kwankwaso Predicts 2027 Election Disappointments for Governors

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), stated that most state governors seeking re-election in 2027 will likely be disappointed. He made this prediction during a Personality Interview Series in Abuja on Sunday.

Kwankwaso attributed this potential outcome to the growing political consciousness among Nigerians, which he believes will challenge the incumbents' reliance on state structures and electoral manipulation. He warned that voters are becoming more determined to make independent choices, particularly in light of pressing issues such as insecurity, poverty, unemployment, and deteriorating public services.

Kwankwaso also noted that some governors, who have failed to address their constituents' concerns, are defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under the assumption that it will help them retain power. He urged political leaders to prioritize good governance over attempts to impose candidates on the electorate.
