Kwankwaso Critiques APC Campaign Council Ahead of 2027

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), criticized the newly formed All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, stating it symbolizes a choice between continuity and a new direction for Nigeria in the upcoming 2027 general election. In a statement on his Facebook page, Kwankwaso highlighted that many political figures who supported the current administration are now campaigning for its continuation.

He questioned what the APC would propose to Nigerians for the 2027 election, emphasizing the need for a new beginning amidst rising hardships such as food and living costs, unemployment, and insecurity. Kwankwaso called on Nigerians to leverage the election to reject oppression and demand accountable governance, citing the recent political change in Osun State as a positive example.

He also appealed to Abdul’aziz Yari, the newly appointed Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, to reconsider leading a campaign aimed at continuing a government that has contributed to widespread challenges in the region.
