2027 Election: INEC Announces Date for Voter’s Card Registration, Sets Minimum Age

INEC has announced the commencement of the Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise for the 2027 election cycle, starting on August 25, 2025. Eligible Nigerians can now register online through a dedicated portal to streamline the process and improve efficiency.

The registration will take place at 37 State Offices and 774 Local Government Area (LGA) Offices across the country to ensure accessibility for all citizens. INEC emphasized the importance of early registration to avoid congestion and ensure every eligible voter is accounted for.

The CVR exercise also includes the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and the replacement of lost or damaged cards. Multiple registrations are prohibited, and violators may face penalties.

INEC urged civil society groups, media outlets, and community leaders to help raise awareness and mobilize eligible voters nationwide.
