NDC Establishes Committee for 2026 Primaries Screening

The Nigeria Democrat Congress (NDC) has formed a national selection committee tasked with overseeing the screening process for the upcoming governorship and national assembly primaries. This decision was announced in a statement issued by Hon.

Barr Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, the party's secretary. The committee is responsible for reviewing and evaluating reports to recommend decisions regarding the screening results of aspirants.

Key members of the committee include Sen. Cleopa Mose Zuwogh as chairman and various other members such as Comrad Babatund Ali, Alhaji Sidi Abdul Bomi, and Dr.

Grace N. Onyekusiobi.

The committee will be formally inaugurated on May 25, 2026, and is expected to conduct its inaugural meeting immediately thereafter. The NDC emphasizes the importance of a transparent and credible selection process, aiming to foster consensus and ensure broad acceptance of candidates.

If consensus is not achieved, direct primaries will be conducted. The primaries are scheduled for May 28-30, 2026.
