Oyo Speaker Ogundoyin Declares for 2027 Governorship Race

Ogundoyin, the current Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibarapa East, has officially announced his candidacy for the governorship race in the 2027 elections. This declaration was made during a stakeholders' meeting held in Igbo Ora, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area, on a Sunday.

The meeting saw participation from key political figures and local government chairmen across the three Ibarapa local government areas, who unanimously urged Ogundoyin to enter the race. Among those present were Anthony Adepoju, Ademola Ojo, Wasilat Adegok, and Alhaji Kamoru Adeyemi, the PDP chairman for Oyo South Senatorial District.

Ogundoyin confirmed his readiness to contest the governorship election, responding positively to the stakeholders' appeal. His announcement marks the beginning of political permutations within the PDP in Oyo State as aspirants prepare for the 2027 general elections.
