Oyo Assembly Speaker Ogundoyin Enters 2027 Gubernatorial Race

Adebowale Ogundoyin, the current Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, has officially declared his intention to run for the gubernatorial election in 2027. This announcement was made during a stakeholders' meeting held in Igbo Ora, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area, where he emphasized the significance of the Ibarapa geopolitical zone in the state.

The meeting was attended by various local government chairmen and members of the House of Representatives, including Anthony Adepoju, Ademola Ojo, and Alhaji Kamoru Adeyemi, the PDP chairman for Oyo South Senatorial District. Ogundoyin confirmed that he would contest the gubernatorial election under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The meeting primarily focused on strategies for engaging with Governor Seyi Makinde and other stakeholders in the region as part of his campaign efforts.
