Kingibe: 2027 Elections Will Be People vs APC

In an interview with Arise Television, Senator Ireti Kingibe, representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that the upcoming 2027 general elections will represent a significant contest between the Nigerian populace and the All Progressives Congress (APC). She expressed concern over the worsening economic hardships that are heightening public frustration in Nigeria.

Kingibe argued that the current political climate is undermining democratic principles and weakening opposition forces. She emphasized the critical issues of widespread youth unemployment and poverty, warning that these factors could escalate national tensions if left unaddressed.

Additionally, she questioned the ruling party's approach to opposition activities and highlighted a leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Kingibe maintained that the party's internal affairs are legally protected and pointed to court rulings that affirm the independence of the National Electoral Commission (INEC) in following due process regarding party decisions.
