APC Group Aims for 24 Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027

The APC support group, led by Dr. Bode Olanipekun, has committed to mobilizing 24 million votes for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential elections.

During a press briefing in Abuja, Olanipekun highlighted the significant role of elderly Nigerians in previous elections, noting that in the 2023 presidential election, senior citizens contributed 6.1 million votes out of a total of 24.7 million. The group aims to enhance the welfare and social protection of senior citizens, advocating for policies that promote their dignity and support.

They call for sustained investment in post-retirement skill development and entrepreneurship opportunities. The National Senior Citizens Centre (NSCC) is also mentioned as a key organization in addressing the needs of senior citizens.

The group urges the federal government to continue reforms that ensure timely pension payments and improve healthcare access for the elderly, while encouraging senior citizens to actively participate in the electoral process.
