2027 Elections: APC Woos Another Top PDP Governor, “We Want to Win the Lion”

The ruling Progressives Congress (APC) is making efforts to attract another top governor from the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 elections. Osita Okechukwu, a former director general of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), stated that Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State is welcome to join the APC.

Okechukwu mentioned that Chief Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation and Science, encouraged Mbah to join the APC during a meeting in Enugu. Additionally, businessman Arthur Eze, the CEO of Atlas Oranto Petroleum, revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set for a second term.

On the other hand, the PDP's National Executive Committee (NEC) expressed concerns about the government's performance and accused the ruling APC of plotting to stay in power due to fear of defeat in the 2027 elections.
