APC Chieftain Critiques Opposition Ahead of 2027 Elections

Seye Oladejo, the immediate past publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, urged opposition presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop "chasing shadows" regarding the 2027 general elections. He stated that these parties lack the necessary structures for electoral success, noting that the ADC has no governorship candidate in eight states, while the NDC has none in twelve states.

Oladejo emphasized that elections are won through people, structures, and grassroots organization, rather than social media or press appearances. He questioned the seriousness of the opposition parties in capturing power when they cannot produce candidates for significant offices.

He pointed out the contradiction of the opposition claiming to challenge the ruling APC while failing to find candidates for governorship elections in several states, suggesting a lack of political organization and grassroots acceptance.
