Aide Resigns to Support Labour Party Candidate for 2027

Nwankwo, serving as the personal assistant to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, submitted his resignation letter on May 8, 2026, which became public on Monday. In his letter, Nwankwo expressed his decision to support Chima Anyaso, the Labour Party (LP) candidate for the federal constituency seat currently held by Kalu, in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He stated that his resignation was necessary to avoid any conflict of interest during the electoral process. Nwankwo's letter was addressed to Kalu and the Secretary of Human Resources at the National Assembly.

He also shared a copy of the resignation letter on Facebook, emphasizing his commitment to serve in a worthy capacity and his support for Anyaso's candidacy.
