Nwuche Calls for Unity Among Rivers Political Leaders

Chibudom Nwuche, the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, urged political leaders in Rivers State to prioritize the interests of the people over partisan conflicts in a statement released on Wednesday. This call for unity comes in light of the political turbulence experienced in Rivers State during the 2023 elections, which saw a struggle for political control between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

Nwuche noted that the political tensions have hindered development and eroded public confidence in democratic institutions. He called on the people of Rivers State, regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, or religion, to unite behind a leadership vision that promotes peace and economic growth.

He congratulated Kingsley Chinda for emerging as the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party and acknowledged other candidates from various constituencies. Nwuche emphasized that the future of Rivers State depends on visionary leadership and collective responsibility among stakeholders.
