Kwankwaso Camp Rejects PRP Chair's Ticket Claims

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso's camp has responded to claims made by Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the national chairman of the People's Redemption Party (PRP), regarding the pursuit of a presidential ticket for the 2027 general elections.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement, represented by spokesperson Habeeb Saleh, rejected the assertion that Kwankwaso sought the PRP's presidential ticket without adhering to the party's internal democratic procedures. Baba-Ahmed had alleged that Kwankwaso and Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, were attempting to secure the PRP's presidential ticket without contesting for party leadership.

The PRP leadership emphasized that any individual seeking electoral office must first join the party and follow its constitutional processes. Saleh described the claims as unsubstantiated and an attempt to attract public attention, asserting that there had been no formal meeting between Kwankwaso and Obi regarding the presidential ticket.
