INEC Assures Every Vote Will Count in 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Nigerians that every valid vote cast in the 2027 general elections will count, declaring that attempts by politicians to manipulate the electoral process through the hoarding of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will not yield success. Speaking at a seminar in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Thursday, Dr.

Adejumo Peter, the Head of Voter Education and Publicity of INEC in the state, stated that technological advancements have significantly minimized opportunities for electoral fraud. He noted that measures implemented by INEC prevent anyone from voting with another person's PVC, indicating that politicians who rely on stockpiling PVCs are misinformed about the current electoral system.

Peter emphasized that INEC will adhere strictly to the provisions of the Electoral Act and ensure that elections reflect the will of the people, urging political parties to conduct peaceful campaigns and focus on their manifestos rather than resorting to violence or intimidation.
