INEC Ensures Votes Count in Kwara's 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has pledged to ensure that the 2027 elections in Kwara State, North Central Nigeria, accurately reflect the desires of the electorate. Dr Adejumo Peter, the Head of Voter Education and Publicity for INEC in Kwara, made this commitment during a seminar organized by the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ilorin.

He dismissed allegations that politicians are stockpiling Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stating that such practices are outdated. Dr Peter emphasized that INEC would strictly follow established electoral rules and procedures, ensuring a one man, one vote principle that truly represents the people's will.

Additionally, Atata Abdulfatai, the Head of the Legal Unit of INEC, spoke on the topic "Dissecting the Amended Electoral Act 2026: Innovations and Implications for Nigeria’s 2027 General Elections," indicating the importance of the recent amendments to the electoral framework.
