Yahaya Responds to Goje and Pantami on 2027 Elections

Yahaya, the Governor of Gombe State, addressed allegations made by former Governor Danjuma Goje and former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Pantami, concerning the nomination process for various elective offices in the 2027 elections. Goje, who represents Gombe Central in the Senate, rejected the consensus arrangement proposed by the APC and called for primary elections instead.

Pantami raised concerns about the need for due process in the nomination process. In response, Yahaya stated that the nomination process is not yet finalized and highlighted that new procedures established by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are designed to ensure fairness.

He noted that the process allows for aspirants to participate in the elections, emphasizing that reaching a consensus is the easiest way to adopt candidates within the party. Yahaya's remarks were made during a video interview with Gombe State Media Corporation.
