Adamu Confident for 2027 Nasarawa Governorship Despite Omission

The campaign organization of former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has expressed confidence that he will be included on the ballot for the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election, despite being omitted from the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) list of recognized candidates. The list, published on August 29, 2026, did not include Adamu, who is now a registered member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Following his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC) after being denied a ticket, Adamu joined the SDP and was offered the governorship ticket. Otaru Douglas, the Director of Media and Strategic Communications for Adamu's campaign, stated that they are not concerned about the omission and believe the issue will be resolved through the party.

He emphasized that the process of fielding candidates must be democratic and in line with Nigerian law, dismissing opposition claims as propaganda.
