Ex-PDP Members Back APC for Kwara 2027 Elections

On Friday, former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, organized as the Kwara Solidarity Movement (KSM), reaffirmed their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. The movement's coordinator, Architect Akanbi Lamidi, along with other members, stated that the APC is the only viable platform for securing victory in the upcoming elections.

Lamidi called for reconciliation among party members, particularly appealing to former governorship aspirant Ambassador Yahaya Seriki and other aggrieved members to unite with the party's leadership. He emphasized the importance of respecting the party's supremacy despite any grievances arising from the primaries.

The group endorsed Governor AbdulRazaq for the Kwara Central senatorial seat, Mahmud Umar Muhammad for Kwara North, and Lekan Adewoye for Kwara South, while also supporting other APC candidates for the National and State Houses of Assembly. Lamidi urged all progressive Kwarans to join in appealing to Seriki for the unity of the party and the state.
