Dan'iya Named ADC Consensus Candidate for Sokoto 2027

Manir Muhammad Dan'iya, the former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, has been confirmed as the consensus candidate for the governorship position representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming 2027 elections. Dan'iya made this announcement in a statement released on Friday, where he thanked the party leader, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and other stakeholders for their support and confidence in him.

He described his emergence as a significant responsibility and pledged to work towards unity, stability, and development in Sokoto State. Dan'iya acknowledged the backing he received from various political associations, youth, and women's groups, emphasizing a shared vision for the future of the state.

He called for continued support for the ADC movement, urging peace and unity in political consultations leading up to the elections. Reports indicate that at least ten aspirants have shown interest in the ADC governorship ticket, including former ambassador Jordan Faruk Malami and Yabo.
