Manir Muhammad Dan Iya Becomes ADC Governorship Candidate

Manir Muhammad Dan Iya has been announced as the governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State for the upcoming 2027 elections. This development was confirmed by a statement issued by Aminu Abubakar, the former press secretary to ex-governor Aminu Tambuwal, on Friday.

Dan Iya, who previously served as the deputy governor of Sokoto State, holds the traditional title of Walin Sokoto. He expressed his commitment to work towards unity, stability, and development across the state, acknowledging the support and guidance from political leaders, particularly Aminu Tambuwal.

Dan Iya called for collective efforts among various groups, including elders, youth, and women, to ensure a shared vision for the future of Sokoto State. He urged members of the ADC to remain peaceful and focused as they intensify political consultations ahead of the next general elections.

Notably, there are at least ten other aspirants indicating their intent to contest for the governorship position within the party.
