Social Media Won't Influence Ebonyi 2027 Election Outcome

Engr. Ben Okah, the Chairman of the Ebonyi State Council of Elders, asserted that social media campaigns and criticisms will not determine the outcome of the 2027 governorship election in Ebonyi State. Speaking in Abakaliki, he noted that political campaigning has shifted from traditional methods to social media, where some content creators are allegedly funded by external parties to misrepresent the state's realities.

Okah emphasized that online popularity does not equate to electoral support and that genuine grassroots connections are essential for politicians. He stated that the people of Ebonyi prioritize development, peace, and good governance over what he termed a "media war." Okah defended Governor Francis Nwifuru's administration, claiming that the state is experiencing peace and development.

He challenged journalists to verify the governor's project claims and questioned the grassroots relevance of Nwifuru's critics, urging opposition parties to focus on constructive issues rather than social media attacks.
