Goje Denies Defection from APC Amid Election Speculation

Danjuma Goje, the former Governor of Gombe State and current Senator representing Gombe Central, has denied any plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC). This statement follows the omission of his name from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) final list of candidates for the 2027 general elections.

Goje, who has served in the Senate since 2011, stated he is currently consulting with political stakeholders and will announce his next political move at the appropriate time. He addressed his supporters on Saturday at his residence in Gombe, urging them to remain loyal to the party's leaders and prepare for his eventual directive.

Goje lost the APC senatorial ticket for Gombe Central to Mohammed Ahmed during the party's primary, which has led to speculation about his political future, especially with overtures from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party. Despite these developments, Goje has reassured his supporters of his commitment to them, regardless of his Senate ticket status.
