Umo Eno Calls for Credible Elections in Akwa Ibom

With three months remaining until the 2027 general elections, Governor Umo Eno, represented by Deputy Dr. Akon Eyakenyi, addressed a seminar at Ibom Hall in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, emphasizing the importance of credible elections. Key stakeholders, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies, were urged to collaborate with political parties to ensure a peaceful electoral process.

Governor Eno reminded political leaders that no ambition is worth the state's peace and unity, advocating for respectful political conduct. He warned against divisive rhetoric and the manipulation of youth for violence, urging young people to reject being used as political thugs.

Eno directed security agencies to adopt a coordinated approach to election security and called for collaboration among law enforcement to prevent electoral violence. He also urged the media to maintain professionalism in their coverage, cautioning against unverified information that could escalate tensions.
