Uba Sani to Contest 2027 Kaduna Governorship Election

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna is set to contest against 17 other candidates in the 2027 governorship election, as per the list released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday. The announcement was made at the commission’s headquarters in Unguwan Rimi, Kaduna metropolis, revealing that a total of 18 candidates will participate in the election across various political parties.

Uba Sani, who is seeking re-election, will run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His main opponent from the 2023 election, Isa Mohammed Ashiru, will represent the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Other candidates include Muhammad Jamilu from the Accord Party (AP), Adamu Alhaji Ahmed of the Action Alliance (AA), Bawa Shehu Usman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tukur Rabiu from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and Idris Adamu of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Adamu expressed optimism about the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of a free and fair contest and encouraging residents to participate.
