FG Approves Airlines for 2027 Hajj Pilgrimage Airlift

The Nigerian government has approved three local airlines—Air Peace, Max Air, and Umza Aviation Services—and two Saudi Arabian airlines, Flynas and Saudi Air, to airlift Nigerian pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj scheduled for May in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This approval was announced through a public notice by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Thursday.

The selection of the five airlines followed a rigorous screening and evaluation process by NAHCON’s Aviation Screening Committee, adhering to safety, operational capacity, and financial guidelines. NAHCON stated that the engagement of these carriers is contingent upon the execution of an airlift agreement with NAHCON and compliance with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) requirements.

Passenger allocation and airlift schedules will be coordinated with State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and private tour operators. All carriers must comply with Hajj 2027 regulations, including ticket issuance linked to pilgrims’ Nusuk-Masar data and baggage allowances.
