Presidency Accuses Peter Obi of Political Threats

The Nigerian Presidency has accused Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Obidi Movement, of employing threats to life as a political strategy in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, Daniel Bwala, made these allegations in response to Obi's recent remarks made in Berlin, Germany, where he claimed there was an attempt on his life during a planned visit to Benue State in April 2025.

Bwala dismissed Obi's claims, arguing that they follow a pattern of similar allegations made by Obi, whom he described as desperate. He referenced Obi's accusations against airport authorities for allegedly violating traffic regulations, suggesting that Obi's latest claims about safety are intended to mobilize support for the Obidi Movement against political opponents.

Bwala characterized Obi's assertions as false accusations against airport officials and indicative of a strategy to threaten people's lives.
