APC Members Blame Bolarinwa for Kwara South Ticket Loss

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have expressed dissatisfaction over the loss of the governorship ticket for Kwara South, attributing it to the perceived selfishness of former chairman Bashiru Omolaja Bolarinwa. Aggrieved members, preferring anonymity, criticized Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for not supporting Bolarinwa, citing concerns over his popularity in the region.

The situation has strained relationships within the party, especially after Justice Isa Ayo Salami, a long-time ally of President Bola Tinubu, allegedly recommended Bolarinwa as a preferred candidate. However, Abdulrazaq reportedly resisted this move, leading to discontent among party members.

The APC's primary elections were marked by tensions, with the announcement of results postponed due to internal consultations. Salihu Danladi emerged as the governorship candidate, while Yahya Seriki and 11 other aspirants were absent during the final result announcement, further fueling speculation about dissatisfaction with the electoral process.
