Aiyedatiwa Reaffirms Loyalty to APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Aiyedatiwa, the governor, addressed a stakeholders’ meeting with APC local government and ward chairmen in Akure on Monday, asserting his commitment to the party and denying any involvement in anti-party activities. He emphasized that he has never asked any APC member or candidate to leave the party or contest elections under a different political platform.

Aiyedatiwa referred to allegations linking him to moves by some APC members to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as falsehoods propagated by "naysayers, blackmailers, and slanderers." He reiterated his zero tolerance for anti-party activities and highlighted his historical loyalty to the progressive political family. Aiyedatiwa called on APC members to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the upcoming 2027 elections.

He tasked the 18 local government and 203 ward chairmen with mobilizing voters at the grassroots level and conducting regular meetings to strengthen party structure and prepare for the elections.
