Ortom Urges Benue Youths to Reject Violence Ahead of 2027

Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, addressed youths at the burial of Aloysius Wuam, the former chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ushongo Local Government Area. Ortom urged the youth to reject violence and resist manipulation by individuals using political thuggery.

He cautioned against allowing themselves to be used to attack political opponents and emphasized that anyone advocating violence should first lead by example with their own children. Ortom condemned the growing violence disrupting church services and public gatherings, warning that such actions could lead to dangerous consequences.

He noted that Benue State is already facing devastation from attacks by Fulani herdsmen and urged traditional rulers to uphold the law and remain neutral. Ortom described the late Aloysius Wuam as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to the state's political development were significant.

Other dignitaries, including Abba Moro and Ezekiel Adaji, also paid tribute to Wuam's legacy.
