Peter Obi Challenges Misappropriation Claims During Tenure

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has publicly challenged critics regarding allegations of misappropriation of funds during his eight-year tenure as governor of Anambra State. This statement was made in response to claims from the current Anambra State government, which indicated that it is still managing loans and liabilities inherited from previous administrations, including Obi's.

Speaking to Nigerians at a meeting in Washington, D.C., Obi asserted that he received approximately half a trillion naira during his governorship. He declared that if anyone could trace even 1% of misappropriated funds from his time in office, he would stop campaigning and refrain from discussing the 2027 presidential election.
