Ibadan Mogajis Reject Endorsement of Makinde, Adekanmbi

A collective of traditional rulers in Ibadan, known as Mogajis, issued a statement denying any endorsement of Governor Seyi Makinde for the 2027 presidency and Bimbo Adekanmbi, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate. The statement, released on Saturday, was made by Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori, President of Ibadan Mogajis, and Mogaji Dr Nurudeen Akinade, Coordinator of the Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI).

This clarification followed the circulation of a viral video claiming the endorsement. The Mogajis asserted their role as neutral figures in politics, aligning with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, who maintains an apolitical position.

The meeting, attended by over 200 Mogajis at the old Olubadan Palace in Ojaba, reinforced their commitment to remaining non-partisan and serving as fathers to all, distancing themselves from any individual endorsements made by others.
