Rhodes-Vivour Confident of 2027 Win Without Obi Support

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the gubernatorial candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated his intention to win the 2027 Lagos State governorship election without the support of Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate. In a briefing, Rhodes-Vivour addressed concerns regarding his political strategy following Obi's exit from the ADC.

He asserted that despite the challenges, his support base extends beyond online visibility and that he has been actively building grassroots support across communities in Lagos. Rhodes-Vivour emphasized the importance of forming a broad coalition among opposition forces to effectively challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) and highlighted the need for unity among various political interests.

He defended his decision to remain with the ADC, citing its successful establishment of a formidable opposition coalition in Lagos. Rhodes-Vivour criticized the APC's hold on Lagos politics, alleging intimidation and violence, and expressed his commitment to providing the people with a viable alternative.
