FEC Approves N3.94tn for Road Projects and Vessels

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved a total of N3.94 trillion for various projects, including 25 road projects across 10 states and N286 billion for pollution control vessels in Nigeria's port system. This decision was made during a meeting led by President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, the first meeting in approximately three months since March 4, 2026.

Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed that the council ratified several approvals, including the full business case for the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which is to be reconstructed using reinforced concrete technology. The council also approved the rescoping of the Mokwa-Tegina-Bida-Lambata access road in Niger State, with a contract sum of N1.8325 trillion awarded to Dangote Group.

Other projects approved include dual carriageways in various states, with a combined cost of N2.078 trillion, and specific road rehabilitations across Adamawa, Taraba, Ebonyi, Kwara, Cross River, Kogi, Oyo, and Plateau states.
