Peter Obi Vows to Defend Democracy Ahead of 2027 Elections

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), stated his willingness to die in defense of democracy and the citizens' votes for the upcoming 2027 elections. Speaking at a town hall meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, Obi encouraged Nigerians not to be intimidated as they approach the general elections.

He emphasized the importance of defending votes and demanded that they must count, asserting that attempts to manipulate the electoral process would be met with resistance. Obi called for active participation in political campaigns, stressing that collective action is essential for rescuing the country from poor leadership.

He warned that no excuses should be tolerated against electoral malpractices, highlighting the suffering caused by bad governance. Obi remarked on the state of the country's refinery, attributing its issues to inadequate leadership and urging citizens to take a stand against ongoing electoral manipulation.
