INEC Releases Final List of 122 Ondo Assembly Candidates

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State announced the final list of 122 candidates for the National Assembly elections scheduled for January 2027. This announcement was made by Ogunseye Olayinka, the Head of the Voter Education and Publicity Department, on behalf of the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mutiu Agboke, on Sunday in Akure.

The list includes 31 candidates for senatorial districts and 91 candidates for the House of Representatives. The publication of the final list was in compliance with the commission’s approved timetable, with September 12 set as the last day for this announcement, pursuant to Section 32(1) of the Electoral Act, 2026.

Olayinka emphasized INEC's commitment to transparency and credibility in the electoral process and encouraged the public and political parties to view the list at INEC offices. He assured that the elections would be free, fair, transparent, credible, and inclusive, with the outcome determined solely by the votes cast.
