INEC Reports Lagos as Top State for Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revealed the top ten states by the number of registered voters in Nigeria in preparation for the 2027 general elections. During a World Press Conference held in Abuja, INEC Chairman, Prof Joash Amupitan, disclosed that Lagos State has the highest number of registered voters at 7,488,633.
Following Lagos is Kano State with 6,000,570 registered voters, and Kaduna State ranks third with 4,000,640. Katsina State is fourth with 3,876,051 registered voters, while Oyo State comes fifth with 3,588,111.
Delta State has 3,525,988 registered voters, and Rivers State has 3,000,734. Benue State follows with 3,057,225 registered voters, Ogun State ranks ninth with 3,037,981, and Bauchi State rounds out the top ten with 3,000,047 registered voters.
