PDP Faction Rejects Endorsement of Tinubu for 2027

On Thursday, a faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Taminu Turaki, through its spokesperson Ini Ememobong, publicly rejected the idea of endorsing Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the 2027 general elections. Ememobong described the endorsement as morally wrong and politically unacceptable, asserting that it would weaken the PDP's identity and betray its support base.

The faction emphasized its commitment to providing a credible alternative to governance and rebuilding the PDP as a strong, united opposition platform capable of contesting power in 2027. Ememobong expressed confidence in ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party, noting that internal disagreements should not damage the party's credibility.

Instead, he called for a focus on strengthening unity and restoring discipline within the party ranks, hoping that reason would prevail over emotions.
