Wike Predicts Tinubu's 2027 Victory in Abuja Amid Changes

Nyesom Wike, during an inspection tour of the Kei project in satellite towns within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), asserted that it will be challenging for Bola Tinubu to be defeated in Abuja in the upcoming 2027 elections. Wike highlighted the ongoing infrastructural transformation across the nation’s capital, which he believes will translate into electoral support for the current administration.

He noted that the 2023 presidential election results showed Peter Obi of the Labour Party receiving 281,717 votes, while Tinubu garnered 90,902 votes, and Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party received 74,199 votes. Wike suggested that the political dynamics in Abuja are evolving, driven by tangible improvements in infrastructure and government delivery.

He criticized the previous concentration of development in the city center, advocating for equal impact in satellite communities, which have historically struggled with poor access and limited infrastructure.
