PDP Faction Rejects Endorsement of Tinubu for 2027

The faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Tanimu Turaki declared that endorsing President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 general elections would be immoral and unjust. This statement was made during a press appearance at the party's secretariat in Akwa Ibom State.

Turaki expressed optimism about ongoing reconciliation efforts within the PDP, which aim to strengthen the party's role as the opposition rather than diminish it. He confirmed that discussions to resolve internal crises began on Tuesday night and have already yielded positive results.

The faction, which supports PDP governors, is hopeful that these reconciliatory talks will unite aggrieved factions, including those led by Nyesom Wike. Turaki also mentioned that they would consider withdrawing court cases once the reconciliation process concludes.

He emphasized the importance of compromise and collective interest in achieving peace within the party ahead of the national convention scheduled for March 29-30, 2026.
