Iyabo Obasanjo Advocates Political Collaboration for Peace

Iyabo Obasanjo, a governorship aspirant from the Progress Congress (APC) in Ogun State, has called for collaboration among politicians to prevent violence during the upcoming 2027 governorship elections. During her visit to the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Abeokuta, she stressed the importance of dialogue among political stakeholders to reduce tensions and foster peace in the electoral process.

Obasanjo highlighted that constructive dialogue would enhance understanding among political parties and strengthen democracy in the state. She urged all political aspirants to engage seriously with the IPAC, which comprises chairmen of registered political parties in Ogun State, to present their plans and visions.

IPAC Chairman Abayomi Sanyaolu noted that the council recognizes three aspirants for the governorship position, including Iyabo Obasanjo, Gboyega Isiaka, and Sarafa Tunji Isola. He emphasized the need for serious engagement from all aspirants to avoid past electoral conflicts.
