Atiku Abubakar has commenced his journey to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections, following a judgment from the Federal High Court in Abuja that affirmed David Mark's leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The ruling, delivered by Justice Liman, addressed challenges to Mark's leadership and reaffirmed the legal principles governing political parties.

Atiku's spokesperson, Phrank Shaibu, stated that the judgment is a victory for democracy and the rule of law, emphasizing that no political intimidation or abuse of state power will deter the democratic aspirations of the Nigerian people.
