Court Affirms David Mark's Leadership in ADC

On Thursday, the Federal High Court in Abuja upheld the leadership of David Mark in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), dismissing a suit filed by Leke Abejide. The court, presided over by Justice Musa Liman, ruled that it lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter, which was deemed a political internal affair.

The judgment stated that Abejide failed to demonstrate a legal standing to institute the suit and did not exhaust internal dispute resolution mechanisms within the party. The court also ruled that the transfer of leadership from Ralph Nwosu to Mark did not contravene the ADC constitution.

Following the ruling, Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President, praised the court for upholding legal principles and emphasized the need for judicial integrity in political disputes. He described the judgment as a boost for the rule of law and encouraged party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
